The Problem.
The client wants to "edit a page" without your assistance on their website regularly, but they want you to "manage the rest". If you are not having cold sweats and nightmares already, you should.
The client has a legitimate need: to alter parts of their website AS NEEDED and without playing phone tag with your staff. A full content management system is beyond their skills, needs, and budget. Turning them loose on the website will only create problems that they will never understand, and somehow, you will get blamed for causing. Most clients will never understand how badly they can mess up a design and how much work it would take you to repair that damage.
The Solution - "Micro Content Management"
The HotSpotCM™ the micro content manager. - Imagine pasting three lines of code into a "spot" on the web page that the client wants to "edit". Wrap it in a <div> and do some styling to control the location, size, etc..
How does this work?
The client logs into their HotSpotCM™ manager and selects the pre configured "spot" from a list, and opens up a full WYSIWYG editor that hides the HTML and behaves just like a simple "MS Word-like" editor. When they are done, click "Save" and task is complete. You have kept them happy and avoided problems and nightmares.
You have solved that problem, now move on to the next.
